IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) hair removal devices work by using broad-spectrum light to target the pigment (melanin) in hair follicles. Here's how the process works:

Light Emission: The device emits a broad spectrum of light pulses. This light is different from laser hair removal, which uses a single wavelength of light. IPL covers a wider range of light wavelengths.

Melanin Absorption: The light energy is absorbed by the melanin (the pigment that gives hair its color) in the hair follicle. Darker hair contains more melanin, which makes IPL more effective on dark hair.

Heat Conversion: The absorbed light energy is converted into heat, which raises the temperature of the hair follicle.
